Holiday Valley Ski Area in Ellicottville NY. 
Located at the top of Holiday Valley, Spruce Lake has become quite the picturesque location for many adventurers in Western NY.
Both the SPORT and the full distance XTERRA point series event provide plenty of room for spectators to view the athletes through out the entire swim.
From transition the bike begins by circling the lake so athletes can gain their bearing before dropping down “the white knuckle decent”, as described by XTERRA Pro - Will Kelsay in Triathlon Life, to the training center and begin the moderate climb. Out on the State land the members of Western New York Mountain Bike Association (WNYMBA) will keep you on track for some of the best manicured single track the region has to offer. Take the screaming decent one more time and transition to the single track run course.
One loop thru the Holiday Valley ski resort and you are ready to finish under the banner in front of spectators, family, and friends.
